OUR STORY

Originally founded as G.T. Clarke Painting, my grandfather Gilbert returned from World War II with a decision to branch out in his artistic abilities and put his brush to work transforming houses and not just canvases. My dad, Ken, joined him to found G.T. Clarke & Son Painting around 1972. Together, they established a standard of quality in The Gorge that remains unmatched. When I was 12, I started to learn the trade by helping my grandfather and dad during the summers through college. After college, my career path took me away from the Hood River Valley for about 7 years, where I worked as a mortgage broker. Upon returning in 2008, I began to build my own business going from door to door and finding my own painting customers and spreading the word through fellow contractors. Nate Clarke Painting was born, and I have since continued to perfect my craft, build a strong, reliable team and a reputation as the premier painting company in The Gorge.
